Welcome to Knit 4 Choice! Yarnygoodness and I are your moderators. :-) I put rules on the Info Page: Post anything appropriate to the Current Project (Wombs-on-Washington) and Future Projects!

This community is Friends-Only (after this post) as well as join-by-approvals. You have to ask to join.. once we approve you, you should add the journal to your friends-list. If anyone has any problems, please post here or e-mail me at aadttsm@yahoo.com .

Can you guys post an entry that explains the whole idea of "wombs on washington" (WHICH FREAKIN ROCKS BTW) with the deadline etc?
Then I can send the link to people and things like that. We have a knitting group in Madison and I think we could make TONS O WOMBS for you people. I'm totally excited by this!

First off, I understand why you want to make the community friends only. However, does that then exclude bloggers who don't use livejournal? I personally came to the whole process from www.peskyapostrophe.com and happen to know that there's a lot of feminist non-lj women out there that might want to get involved. Seeing as how I rarely use my LJ account, I guess I'm wondering if friends-only makes it inaccessible to those without LJ accounts.

if you'll read further up, we're taking steps to get a web page and information out there outside of LiveJournal.

Yeah, what is the reason behind making everything friends-only? I think this is a great idea, but I don't think the convo should be LJ exclusive.

My understanding was that people may be posting addresses, so that was why.

addresses, DEFINITELY, and anonimity.. if you've never been involved in something like this before, the thought of people protesting or invading our journals because they know we're involved in something like this can be a frightening one... Like I said, there'll be information outside of LiveJournal, but there's also no harm in having a small, organized place to hammer out the details, even if it excludes people.

Not everyone needs to be involved in the planning; there'll be no exclusions when it comes to participants. :-)
